The judges...

Allan Mullins will head up the panel of judges for the 2020 competition, accompanied by a talented team of industry wine professionals.​

Allan Mullins is a stalwart in the SA wine industry. He has been called "the most influential personality in South African wine" (Grape Magazine) and has been rated as having "a razor-sharp palate, sharper than any knife in Gordon Ramsay's kitchen" (Neil Pendock, wine writer). Allan is a highly respected and experienced wine judge, writer, tasting presenter and a wine lecturer. Allan has been heading up the Rose Rocks judging panel since its inception.

Tatiana Marcetteau began her career as a wine sommelier in Europe. Qualified for over 20 years, she has worked in a clutch of 5 star establishments across South Africa. Being French, Tatiana has a special affinity for rosé wine. Currently, she is the Food & Beverage Manager at the Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town. She has previously judged on the Rosé Rocks Panel.

Praisy Dlamini is an accomplished winemaker from KwaZulu Natal. She studied at Elsenburg Agricultural College and went on to become the first woman with the Cape Winemakers Guild Protégé program in 2008. She has judged numerous wine competitions and will be joining the Rosé Rocks judging panel for the fifth year.

Kelly-Marie obtained a BSc degree in Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch University.  She went on to lecture at Elsenburg Agricultural College for 4 years.  Since then, she has gone on to become a winemaker at Distell and in July 2019 was appointed head white winemaker at Zonnebloem Wines. This is Kelly-Marie's second year on the panel.

Shirley hails from Zambia. Throughout her career in hospitality she has developed a passion and enthusiasm for wine which makes her a standout in the industry. She has been the General Manager at the top rated Chef’s Warehouse on Bree Street, Cape Town. While there she took a huge interest in the wine list and made sure it was crafted to compliment the food. Having achieved her WSET Level 3, this wine connoisseur continues her wine journey.

Munashe is head wine sommelier at the highly rated restaurant Le Coin Francais in Franschhoek.  Originally from Zimbabwe, Munashe relishes the opportunity he has in South Africa to totally focus on acquiring knowledge on SA wines. In pursuit of this quest he has even turned his hand to wine making himself. Throughout his journey in the wine industry he has developed an appreciation for Rosé wine. This is Munashe’s fourth year on the Rose Rocks Panel.
